Jed Heuer (b. 1982) is a New York–based artist working between Germantown and Brooklyn. His sculptures and light-based works explore how much function a sculptural object can hold, often through humor, absurdity, and the transformation of everyday materials. Lamps, appliances, foam, wood, and found objects are flipped, tied, stacked, and reconfigured into illuminated constructions. Functionality is rearranged — cords become drawing lines, industrial parts meet domestic products — challenging assumptions of what constitutes sculpture or an object of art.
His work has been exhibited at JONALDDUDD exhibitions during NYC Design Week and other design shows.
